If you are looking for a certificate to prove your proficiency in Chinese, you should strongly consider taking the HSK, the official Chinese language test organized by CLEC, a part of the Chinese Education Ministry.

The HSK must be taken at an official HSK test center approved by CLEC, and it’s easy to do so in Guangzhou. As of 2023, there are 11 test dates and 10 HSK test centers in Guangzhou. All 10 test centers offer the test taker-friendly computer-based test (also known as the internet-based/online HSK test) now. In this post, you’ll find all their locations and contact details.

Where to Take the HSK Test in Guangzhou

You can find HSK test centers in the following four districts of Guangzhou (c=computer test, p=paper test).

Baiyun(c/p)

The HSK test dates and registration fees are the same at all centers. You can focus on selecting the test center that’s most conveniently located to where you live.

If you’re an international student in Guangzhou, there’s likely an HSK test center at your university. You can have the opportunity to visit the testing site ahead of time to feel it out, and even find time to take some practice tests in that very building!

If you’re not a student, but just work or live in Guangzhou, you can opt to take the HSK test at a test center more centrally located in the city, for example, Easy Chinese next to Tianhe Sports Center. An advantage of taking the HSK test at an authorized language school or education company is that they are usually more accommodating and helpful than public universities, and often have special preparation lessons for the tests. (it’s not a must to enroll in any of their courses to take the HSK test there)
